Pizza and Bread in our Outdoor Wood-Fired Oven!

Saturday, August 13, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Join us to create and bake your very own pizza and bread in the Holy Nativity outdoor wood-fired oven. All are welcome and it's free! Pizza creating and baking starts at 12:00 noon. What to bring: Pizza dough & toppings. Pre-cooking vegetables is recommended, but not essential. We'll have tools to form your dough and add toppings. Bring something to drink, plus cups and sturdy plates. Bread creating and baking takes place from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. What to bring: Bread dough.

C-ZEN Circle

Wednesday, August 17, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Zen is an ancient tradition; yet it's a living one that is constantly evolving. Here in the information-saturated world of Los Angeles, we are applying the underlying principles of Zen to our busy lives. The Westchester Zen Circle meets each Wednesday evening to practice Zen meditation (zazen) and mindfulness. The harvest team gathers every Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. and Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. to work in the garden. Volunteers with gardening experience are welcome, or if you have NO garden experience at all, you are most welcome. Participating in the Thursday harvest team is a great way to learn hands-on alongside garden veterans. For more information, please contact our garden manager Azita at [email protected].
