The Kids' March for Equality is a safe, positive, non-partisan event for children living in Los Angeles neighborhoods near Westchester/LAX, so they can voice their support for equality, diversity, and treating others with kindness. The march is organized by local mothers.
Be sure to bring snacks and water. Also bring your signs and chants containing positive, kid-friendly messages about equality. Examples of appropriate slogans are "Civil Rights for Everyone," "Equality for All," "Diversity is Beautiful."
Zen is an ancient tradition; yet it's a living one that is constantly evolving. Here in the information-saturated world of Los Angeles, we are applying the underlying principles of Zen to our busy lives. The harvest team gathers every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. to work in the garden. Volunteers with gardening experience are welcome, or if you have NO garden experience at all, you are most welcome. Participating in the Thursday harvest team is a great way to learn hands-on alongside garden veterans.
