GOOD FRIDAY: A JUSTICE STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Hello my dear Parishioners,
Stations of the Cross: Attached you will find The STATIONS OF THE CROSS that are most appropriate to say on Good Friday any time between 12:00 and 3:00 when Jesus was dying on the cross. Feel free to say them, though, at any time during the day or evening. They will also be on our website under “Sermons” for you to open and follow. These Stations have a Justice theme, but also pay attention to the difficulties in our own lives and how to manage them spiritually. I hope you take the short time praying these Stations takes to ponder the mystery of what Jesus has done for us, and to meditate, or take a breath from your day,to consider your own life and how we can follow Jesus in a new way. I will be praying them on Friday afternoon and will remember to pray for all of you.
At 7PM, we will attempt to have a ZoomGood Friday Reading of the Passion, again informally from my kitchen. You will receive your Zoom invitation on Friday morning.
The Passion Narrative according to John will be read at that time by volunteers from our congregation.
Again, in case you missed this: Find a nail in your home. Hold it in your hand and quietly contemplate all the things that worry you this day, the things that you have done in the past year that you regret, or the things you have left undone. Easter morning when you first rise up, get that nail and throw it away knowing that in Christ’s resurrection all has been made new, and all is well.
