La Cucina Italiana Cooking Class – September 14
Our annual La Cucina Italiana Cooking Class on September 14 is special. Special because we explore Italian cuisine in a different way. Americans think of Italian food as pizza and pasta, but there is so much more to explore. So many regions of Italy like the U.S. from north to south that cook with their local ingredients. Italy is home to the roots of the Slow Food movement and farm to table has long been in their lexicon. Simply cooked food with authentic and fresh ingredients.
Join us on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester where we will once again explore La Cucina Italiana. I had the good fortune of working for La Cucina Italiana magazine for a few years before the doors were shuttered on the U.S. edition and as a result, I have a treasure trove of recipes to draw from for this amazing class. Once again, I’m excited to try all these recipes together as we serve an authentic Italian meal from beginning to end. Don’t miss this popular class. Here’s what’s on the menu:
- Antipasti: Roasted Pepper Rolls
- Primi: Butternut Squash Risotto
- Contorni: Roasted Zucchini Timbales
- Secondi: Baked Polenta with Italian Sausage and Tomato
- Dolce: Baked Alaska/Alps with Chocolate Gelato and Burnt Meringue served with Raspberry Sauce
Patricia K. Rose, of Fresh Food in a Flash, will lead this hands-on cooking class on Thursday, September 14, 2017, 6:00-9:30 at the newly remodeled Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester. Once we complete the cooking, sit down and enjoy a meal you and your new friends made together with a glass of wine.
Cooking Class fee $50 when you reserve by September 11, $60 thereafter if space available. To reserve your spot, email [email protected]. Classes take place at Holy Nativity Community Hall, 6700 West 83rd Street, Westchester, CA 90045.
