The heart of Holy Nativity is its spiritual life.
BIBLE STUDY:
Our Bible study is led by Brad Elliott Stone, Ph.D., assistant professor
of philosophy at Loyola-Marymount University. A gifted teacher, Dr.
Stone illuminates the Bible as only an academician can -- bringing
stories alive and reflecting on the Holy Scripture.
MEDITATION:
The World Community for Christian
Meditation California Center now makes its home at Holy Nativity,
offering twice-daily meditation Tuesday through Thursday at noon and
6:00 pm, and Saturdays at noon. The Office of the Meditation Center is
open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm. Books, videos,
and information about meditation can be borrowed and/or purchased.
Read Fr. Peter's personal story about Centering
Prayer.
SOUP AND SPIRITUALITY:
Our very popular evening “Soup and Spirituality,” is a series of
presentations that includes representatives from various faith
traditions, who come to the church and offer reflections upon prayer,
end-of-life issues, and similar topics. A light meal of vegetarian soup,
salad and bread is followed by a presentation and question-and-answer
session. Take a night off and let Fr. Peter do the cooking while you
explore new dimensions of faith.
Global Repentance: An Interfaith Reflection on Care of the Earth
was the topic of this year's Soup and Spirituality Lenten series at Holy Nativity. Come join us and learn what the traditions of Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity teach about caring for creation.
