Lenten Series: Soup and Spirituality
Sacred Resistance: Spiritual Practices for Activism
Wednesdays: 6:00 Slow Time and Silence, 6:30 Vegetarian Soup and Salad, 7:15 Lecture and Discussion
It is our tradition here at Holy Nativity to choose a Lenten topic and invite representatives from the various faith traditions to address the topic from the point of view of their tradition. This Lenten series begins on Wednesday, March 8, and continues for the next four Wednesdays and features members from various faith traditions addressing how we deal with these challenging times.
This year we have chosen “Sacred Resistance: Spiritual Practices for Activism.” In this time of upheaval and uncertainty in our world, many are seeking an avenue to make their voices heard and are also seeking guidance about how to do this. Our speakers will share insights and practices that can lift us up and create a spaciousness so that we can move on and identify new opportunities, building on the positivity of recent activism in our communities.
The evening begins with a half hour of meditation and prayer in the church at 6:00 P.M. At 6:30 we serve salad and a vegetarian soup and have time for fellowship. The talk begins around 7:15 with time for a question-and-answer session at the end.
Join us for this most important series.
